The Rawit pepper is a small pepper, but certainly not a mild one. This pepper is much hotter than its size suggests. The Rawit is widely used in Asian cuisine. These very hot peppers are used in chilli relishes and salsas, as well as in wok and curry dishes. The chilli peppers are also called Birds-eye, Piri-Piri or Thai Chilli and are available in the colours red and green.

Chilli peppers not only provide delicious flavours but are also rich in vitamins and minerals. Hot peppers can also promote weight loss and relieve pain when eaten regularly. Did you know that after eating a (hot) chilli pepper, you can cool your mouth with yoghurt or milk?

The pungency of a chilli pepper is measured on the Scoville scale. The value of this small pepper is between 82,500 and 480,000 on the Scoville scale and belongs to the group of very hot peppers. The Rawit pepper has a length of 3 to 8 centimeters and a diameter of 0.1 to 0.3 centimeters. The average fruit weight is between 2 to 10 grams.

Storage Advice

De Rawit pepers blijven langer goed als je ze in de koelkast bewaard     Het beste is om de Rawit pepers in de groentelade van de koelkast te bewaren op een temperatuur tussen de 8 en 10 graden Celcius
Rawit peppers last longer if you store them the right way. It is best to keep Rawit peppers in the fridge's vegetable drawer at a temperature between 8°C and 10°C.

The peppers are available in different packages: the 1.5 kg packaging, 2 kg packaging, 8 x 50 grams packaging, 8x75 grams packaging and the 12x100 grams packaging. All packagings are available in both colours and combinations. All packaged peppers contain an information card with fun tips, facts and trivia about our chilli peppers.
